Director / Screenwriter / Cinematographer

Tyler Jackson, a versatile filmmaker with a deep-rooted passion for storytelling, born and raised in Palos Verdes, California. His journey into the world of cinema began at age 7, when his father introduced him to the art of photography. This early exposure ignited a creative spark that led Tyler to experiment with a Super 8 camera, capturing moments of life, his family, friends, and the captivating essence of his neighborhood. As his skills evolved, he ventured into the realm of Super 16mm format, where he crafted more intricate narratives and scenes, all while enthusiastically borrowing his father's cameras to bring his visions to life.

In the early-90s, Tyler returned to Los Angeles and embarked on a formal education in the craft of filmmaking. He earned a certificate in film production from Los Angeles City College and honed his skills further by attending writing and directing courses at renowned institutions such as USC.

Tyler Jackson immersed himself in various film-related roles, donning the hats of an art director, assistant camera, camera operator and cinematographer. His journey in the world of music videos allowed him to collaborate with some of the industry's top directors, including Spike Jonz, David Fincher, Tarsem, Hughes Brothers, Dean Karr, Mark Romanick, and Francis Lawrence. Adding a wealth of technical expertise to his already impressive repertoire.

Tyler's knowledge of the technical intricacies of filmmaking and his mastery of high-definition cinematography have garnered recognition and acclaim both in Hollywood and at national film festivals.

In the ever-evolving landscape of film and television, Tyler remains at the forefront, constantly engaged in new projects. His future aspirations include directing five feature films, all of which he has penned: “Darklands” ”Lowlife" "Shadowplay" "Roads to Ruin," and "Going Out West," Simultaneously, he is bridging the gap between film and television with his visionary episodic television series: "Podunk," "The Inlet" “Life of Leisure" and "Origin of Species."
